The masseria is located in the countryside of Apulia, not far from Castellana Grotte, and just 30 km from the sea. Services are all available in the nearby town (9km; 10’) but several other centers of Southern Italy can be reached in no more than an hour by car (Gioia del Colle, Alberobello, Locorotondo, Matera, Ceglie Messapica, Ostuni…). The closest airport is in Bari (70km; 50’).

Bari Wojtyła (70km; 50’), Aeroporto del Salento (96km; 1h 10’), Salerno Costa d’Amalfi (234km; 2h 50’), Napoli Capodichino (308km; 3h 10’)

The masseria was lovingly and masterfully restored in 2014 by the current owners starting from a tumble-down farmstead. The beautiful property also features the typical houses of Apulia, known as trulli, where several beautiful bedrooms have been created. All the buildings were restored to preserve their original charm and atmosphere so that nowadays the masseria is a beautiful boutique hotel in the Apulian countryside. The buildings are in excellent shape and have been masterfully restored back to their original look. The stone walls and the typical domes of the trulli are still well visible and all the finishes have been carefully crafted by local artisans and masters using original materials.

The old Lamia (3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms), is still laid over two floors, in a typical countryside fashion. The ground floor was once used as a cattle recovery by the farmers and this is well visible in the kitchen, whose shape is a clear indication of its past. This area has now been converted into a welcoming living area made up of a bright living room, a dining room with fireplace, a kitchen, a pantry (with a reinforced door, also useful as a secure room for valuables) and a sitting room. Just outside, right next to the living room, there is a small guest bathroom.

The kitchen features a side door leading outside (right under the staircase) and into the paved courtyard: here one could easily set up an outdoor dining area.

Through a staircase, leaned along the northern side of the building, one can reach the first floor which is nowadays fully converted into a sleeping area made up of a master bedroom with bathroom and a beautiful panoramic terrace, a double bedroom with bathroom and a twin bedroom with a separate bathroom.

The property also features two peculiar groups of trulli, a typical Apulian structure with a recognizable conic-shaped roof.

- Group N°1 (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, whose roofs are not pointed) houses two beautiful suites with bathrooms. The truncated look of the roof comes from the past use of these buildings: they were, in fact, barns and with a few steps outside the farmers could fill them with wheat from the roof (much alike a modern silo).

- Group N°2 (2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms), on the other hand, is made up of more traditional trulli, with the pointed roofs. As for the ground floor of the main house, these rooms were used as a shelter for cattle and have been converted into two more suites with bathroom.

Facing the courtyard there is then a cozy wellness center with a fully-equipped gym/fitness center, a massage room, a sauna and a shower room. The Jacuzzi here is made out of solid cedar and when filled with warm water spreads a pleasant smell in the air. The tub is in the open and is the perfect spot at night to watch the stars.

From the pool area, at the corner of the solarium, a staircase leads downward underground into a series of rooms: here one can find a kitchen (to be used in conjunction with the poolside dining area), a technical room for the pool and several dressing rooms with showers.

All the buildings revolve around a series of paved courtyards, ideal for events and ceremonies.

A few steps from the building there is a mosaic-paved 14 × 3 m swimming pool surrounded by a stunning solarium and fitted with an underground pool house. The pool purified with salt and the solarium is paved with a peculiar kind of calcareous stone that has been chosen for its capabilities of not absorbing heat in hot summer days.

A convenient dining area, covered by a wooden pergola, is located right next to the basin and is perfect for al fresco dinners and/or aperitifs. The garden at the side of the pool is a beautiful location for al fresco dinners and events.

For the guests, it is also available a nice 6-car parking spot at the entrance of the property, so that cars can be sheltered from the sun.

The property is not connected to an aqueduct and as far as water supply go, it relies on a huge cistern in the property. This basin is fed by rainwater via a series of gutters on the buildings: here the water is then purified and used during summer. In any case, the cistern is regularly replenished by a cistern truck to ensure the property doesn’t run out of water.
